Situated just 11 kilometres from Sydney's CBD, HMAS Watson sits on a 14.6 hectare site off Cliff Street at Sydney’s South Head. This project encompases the development of a new live in accommodation facility and the construction of a new training centre. Once completed, the site will accommodate up to 236 students and consequential workers. Outside of these new developments, the project also provides upgrades to the site's existing facilities including the Base Security System, Engineering Services, Car Parking and existing Galleys.
Zancon were engaged to prepare the winning Managing Contractors delivery phase tender programme for design and construction works at the HMAS Watson base. The remote location site required consideration not only of onsite construction planning and logistics, but travel times for personnel and construction vehicular movements to and from the site when calculating the schedule.
